Christ for the Poor, took the shape of a CHARITABLE organization after Mr. Torres decided to focus his life and energy helping others through education and prevention. Alejandro knew that the best way to improve humanity’s quality of life is to empower young people, their families and communities by educating them. Alejandro has been motivated long time ago to build up bridges of hopes and trust in communities that were marginalized by their poverty and lack of opportunities.
He had travel worldwide and has seen poverty and injustices first hand, he was born in a humble family where he had to work since a child to help his parents in their small business. Alejandro knows from childhood the value of work and education. However many of the places he has visited the young people did not have the same advantages as of those having a formal education. The poverty he saw in different countries raise up the desire to help the unprivileged, oppressed and persecuted. His desire is to begin helping people through out the Caribbean and Central America building up schools and institutes to provide them with an opportunity to grow .
The possibility of seeing people’s smiling with faith and hope when bringing the Good News to them sparked the flame of service in a world shaken by war, hunger, slavery and the growing idea of God’s emptiness meaning.
